One of Canada’s powerhouse chamber duos, violinist Nancy Dahn and pianist Timothy Steeves have built an international career as the chamber ensemble Duo Concertante. The duo has been performing and producing acclaimed recordings for almost 30 years, and are currently based in St. John’s Nfld.
They have performed in more than 700 concerts across North America, Europe, Central America and China. Their recitals and recordings have received numerous accolades including multiple East Coast Music Awards, a JUNO award, CBC Top-20 Classical Album of 2020, and numerous accolades including the following critical quotes from national and international press:

Duo Concertante have forged a musical legacy and strive to provoke thought and engagement through music in innovative ways. They use music as a means of drawing attention to issues of historical and social importance, including climate change, water, music for young children, multi-media. In true Longshadow fashion, they will be performing works from composers and creators of today, alongside music from the history of their genre: classical chamber music. So you’ll hear music by Dvorak as well as Canadian-Mexican composer Luis Ramirez, a piece by Carmen Braden alongside Brahms, and also music by Amanda Maier - one of Sweden’s first prominent female violinist/composers from the 1870’s!
